FAQs

About Tenders Direct

What is Tenders Direct?

Tenders Direct is a tender alert service that provides you with coverage of public sector business opportunities. We collate tender notices of all values from every buyer from across the UK and Republic of Ireland, as well as high value opportunities from Find a Tender Service (FTS) and Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). We send you email alerts whenever relevant contracts are published, saving you time and effort and allowing you to concentrate on your bids.

We know that finding contracts is only the first step, so Tenders Direct Training and Consultancy provides a variety of learning opportunities and support packages including full day courses, free webinars, and tailored consultancy services all designed to maximise your chances of winning new business.

What are the benefits of using Tenders Direct?

Public contract notices are published in numerous locations by numerous buyers. Tender notices can be found on government databases, websites of individual organisations and purchasing consortia, trade journals and even newspapers. In the UK alone, there are literally hundreds of sources.

Finding the right contracts is difficult, and missing perfect opportunities is all too easy.

Tenders Direct saves you time and effort by providing peace of mind that you won't miss out on suitable contracts. Instead of trawling through long lists of notices from multiple sources to find the ones you want to bid for, you can focus on other tasks while we send the most relevant contracts straight to your inbox.

Who publishes tenders?

Public sector business opportunities are published by various types of organisation including; central and local government, local authorities and councils, NHS trusts, housing associations, emergency services plus many more. Any organisation spending public money as part of a procurement exercise is required to publish the opportunity and make it available to suppliers that wish to bid.

Do you cover private sectors opportunities?

As private sector contracts are not subject to the same transparency requirements as public contracts it is not possible to provide full visibility. Many private sector organisations use the public sector procurement process in order to maximise the profile of their contract to potential suppliers, so any such examples will be included in your alerts.

Tenders Direct tools

What are Advance Tenders Alerts?

Advance Tender Alerts is a business development tool that forecasts potential contract renewals up to 6 months before a tender notice is published, giving you more time to scope your capacity to deliver the contract, pre-engage with buyers, and formulate a winning bid.

What are Contract Awards Notices?

Contract Award Notices are often published by public sector purchasing organisations after the procurement process to announce the successful bidder(s). They can give you intelligence about competitors or help you to identify sub-contracting opportunities.

What is Tenders Electronic Daily and the Official Journal of the European Union?

Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) is the online version of the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). The OJEU is where public sector organisations publish their tender opportunities which are over a certain value. Every day we receive all the OJEU tenders from TED and we supplement these with lower value tenders that we collate from over 500 sources in the UK and Ireland.

What is the Opportunity Manager?

The Opportunity Manager is a bid administration tool that allows you to create a customisable pipeline and progress opportunities you receive from us through every stage of the tendering process.
